Meet the team
Lauren Daly, Director
Lauren completed her two year legal traineeship in Glasgow and Edinburgh with Maclay Murray and Spens LLP (now Dentons). She is from Kirkcaldy, attended Kirkcaldy West Primary and Balwearie High School and obtained her Law Degree and Diploma in legal practice both at Dundee University.
Lauren has an interest in commercial property and has acted for both landlord and tenant during all stages of commercial leases. She also has a lot of experience in the sale and purchase of commercial property. Lauren is also a skilled and experienced practitioner in and deals on a daily basis with residential conveyancing. Lauren also regularly advises clients on creation of their wills and is a Notary Public.
Lauren is married and has 4 children: 3 boys and a girl. Her interests involve musical theatre and animals (she has a Jackahuahua called Nala). Lauren is a huge Queen fan.
Scott Ford, Director
Scott is from Kirkcaldy and attended Kirkcaldy West Primary and Balwearie High School before obtaining his Scots Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice at Dundee University in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Scott has spent all of his legal career training and practicing in Fife.
Scott now has a vast experience in dealing with a variety of transactions and mainly specialises in dealing with private client matters including wills, powers of attorney and executries, as well as also being a very experiened and highly regarded residential conveyancing practitioner. He is also a Notary Public and can assist clients with any documents which require to be notarised.
Scott is an avid sports fan and is a lifelong supporter of Raith Rovers, regularly attending matches both home and away. He is also a former Trustee on the Board of the Raith Rovers Community Foundation. Scott is a family man, married to Accountant, Jess, and together they have a lovely baby girl, Isla, and 2 dogs called Charlie and Arthur.
Fiona Ford, Director
Fiona originally comes from Lanarkshire and graduated from Aberdeen University in 1981. She obtained her post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Dundee University in 1982 and has spent the years since then in practice as a solicitor both in private practice and local government where she gained a wealth of experience in conveyancing and estate agency and in dealing with commercial and domestic property as well as private client work involving wills, executries, separations and divorce.
Fiona now heads up our Estate Agency department and has grown it vastly over the years since she started the firm of FDL. If you are considering putting your house on the market give Fiona a call and you will gain valuable advice from her many years of working in this field.
Fiona’s has 3 adult children, 7 grandchildren and 2 dogs called Lucy and Dennis. She enjoys visiting the Highlands of Scotland.
Nigel Ford, Consultant
Born in Kirkcaldy, Nigel graduated from Aberdeen University in 1981 and then completed a Post Graduate Legal Practice Diploma there before commencing legal practice in 1982. His Traineeship was with the former firm of Clark Oliver (now Thorntons) in Angus. Nigel has worked in the years since in private practice, gaining experience at assistant and partner level in both court and non-court related matters with other firms.
Nigel is our highly regarded and vastly experienced Legal Consultant. With many years of experience in dealing with matters relating to wills, executries and family law, he provides our clients with sympathetic and professional advice in these areas.
When he does have spare time, Nigel’s interests include both watching and playing football and walking his 2 dogs. He is a lifelong follower and supporter of Raith Rovers and a former Director of the Club.
Nigel has 3 adult children, 7 grandchildren and 2 dogs called Lucy and Dennis and he enjoys visiting the Highlands of Scotland.
Lynne Mackie, Senior Accredited Paralegal
Lynne comes from Levenmouth and has worked in legal practice since 1993.
Lynne is a loyal and dedicated member of our staff and she has accumulated a vast amount of experience over the years in dealing with clients directly in relation to the many and varied legal issues on which the firm is consulted.
Lynne is our Senior Conveyancing Paralegal, having worked with us since 1998 and is qualified and fully Accredited with the Law Society of Scotland. Lynne also deals with many of the day to day enquiries which clients of the firm have.
Lynne enjoys cycling, walking and gardening.
Amie Ross, Accredited Paralegal
Amie is a former pupil of Kirkcaldy High School and left there in 1999 to work as an office junior with another local firm of solicitors. Thereafter, she gained a huge practical experience as a legal receptionist / property assistant and conveyancing secretary.
Amie is a loyal and dedicated member of staff who is a Conveyancing Paralegal, being fully Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland. Amie is very highly experienced in residential conveyancing and she has now worked with us for 20 years.
Amie likes socialising with her friends and is an avid Raith Rovers fan. She is also an animal lover.
Emily Young, Accredited Paralegal
Emily joined Fords Daly Legal in July 2014. She is from Glenrothes and studied at St. Andrews High School in Kirkcaldy.
Emily is now a Law Society of Scotland Accredited Conveyancing Paralegal. Emily has her own client base and deals with residential sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of title. Emily has vast experience of dealing with the Scottish Government First Home Fund, Help to Buy Scheme and LIFT Scheme. Emily joined us in our estate agency team and regularly assists our Estate Agency team with transactions.
Emily lives with her partner Grady. She is another dog lover who loves her dog Ivy and enjoys socialising with her friends in her spare time.
Leah Johnston, Estate Agency Negotiator
Leah is our Estate Agency Negotiator and joined our team in March 2021. Leah gained a number of years of experience in property sales with another local estate agency and has brought her skills, energy and enthusiasm to our team, along with her passion and love of property. Leah is a former pupil at Kirkcaldy High School and in her spare time she enjoys horse riding, hill walking with her dog, Oscar, as well as socialising with her friends.

Jeff is our highly experienced Consultant Solicitor and he will be delighted to assist you in all matters relating to Residential and Commercial Property Sales, Purchases and Leases and he describes himself as providing plain-English legal advice!
Jeff is a Glenrothes boy who went to Auchmuty High School and after graduating from Aberdeen University he worked for firms in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh, thereafter practicing as a sole-practitioner and running his own office in Edinburgh for a number of years, and is now enjoying practising law in his own home region.
In his spare time, Jeff enjoys cars and driving, and tries to avoid coming last at Knockhill track days. He also enjoys the outdoors, badminton and ski-ing. Unlike the rest of the team, Jeff is pet-free!
Jeff’s mum regularly bakes for the office, thereby giving cause for complaint for the staff’s waistlines!
Alison went to Preston Lodge High School and has gained many years of experience in legal secretarial work in Edinburgh and the Highlands and is now delighted to have settled in Fife when she joined our team in the summer of 2021. Alison’s area of experience is mainly Conveyancing, Wills, Executries, Powers of Attorney and Private Client matters.
Alison has a dog called Seb and two adult daughters. When Alison has spare time se enjoys reading, crosswords and socialising with friends and family.
Cara is a former pupil of Balwearie High School and began her journey in 2016 as a Legal Secretary with two local firms before eventually joining our team in the summer of 2022.
Cara has experience in various aspects of legal office administration, as well as Conveyancing, Executry and Private client matters.
Cara has two cats called Stark and Parker. Her weekends are normally spent at the Ice Rink watching Fife Flyers, going to away games and spending time with her niece. If she had to choose a favourite cuisine, it would definitely be Italian food!
